MG MG Y Type - YA stars in the `Iron Lady'

Mike Kelloway's YA(Y3200),which is already a star of five films, makes an impressive appearance in the recently released film 'The Iron Lady' about the life of Margaret Thatcher.

You can see more details, photos and notes about Mike's car on the MG Car Club Y Type Register Website - www.mgccyregister.com

Jerry, Yes, this has been on your site a while now as also mentioned in a previous thread from 5th December 2011

I recall seeing this car on IOW, interestingly as shown in one of the photos here.

I look forward to seeing the film. Great PM with great taste of car, in next 10 years we'll see a film featuring a Red Vauxhall "Nova" attempting to be driven by "NO GO" Ed Milliband, LOL

Went to see the Iron Lady last night. The film is so so, though I thought that the issue of dementia was dealt with quite sensitively. Meryl Streep was excellent as Thatcher and caught her nuances very well. The star of the film was of course Mike's YA and there were some good shots of the car dressed up for MT's early election campaign in 1959 and driving to the H of P for her first day.

I guess that's why I went to see the film as I never had any time for the dreadful woman! But that's history.

Interestingly Thatcher is shown loading up an MGB GT on the occasion of the bombing and assination of Airey Neave in the Commons car park. Did she own one and more pertinently did she drive a Y Type in the late 1950's?

RIP Mrs Thatcher. Great thread over on Midget and Sprites BBS, of how divided opinion was on such a great PM, over 53 posts.

hi lads,I have read the comments about Maggie, I did not agree with everything she did but she was a good P.M of strong mind she was detirmined that those unelected dic-tats in Brussels were not going to walk over his great country of ours she was a thorn in hier side.(unlike the moorons we have had, and have in number 10 at the moment) Its a pity that messes blair, brown, and these jokers we have in at the moment. do not and did not take a leave out of her book, I wonder if she would have signed some of the treaty,s giving away our country,s rights and powers .R.I.P MAGGIE and thank-you for giving us some good things and for giving us some pride in OUR GREAT COUNTRY, GREAT BRITAIN !!! don

Oh for goodness sake Richard. I really do not want to hear your views on Thatcher. I obviously have very different views from you and saw some of the effects of her vicious nasty policies at first hand. Great? What did she ever do for women? Other than herself?
Lets just choose to differ!
